The Veteran’s loved the beaded animals! I handed them out on November 11th at around 4 pm
For the rest of November I will be using 50% of all proceeds towards purchasing craft supplies to donate to nursing homes and veteran’s homes in need. With the holiday season coming up I wanted to bring art and creativity, as well as smiles, to as many people as I can. Crafts are an excellent tool for rehabilitation, moral, and allows for creativity.
On another note, I finished a final draft of my phoenix (mini style) in blue tone It came out really pretty ^.^

I hope everyone has a great November! Talk to you again soon
I created a new pattern – a phoenix! I really like how the tail came out, and once I create a final version it will look really good using complementary colors ^.^ One downfall though – the tail is really heavy =( So In order to combat that I added a wire to the back of the phoenix as shown in the picture above. I can use stronger wire for the larger beads, though with the seed beads that’s difficult to do because if the wire is too thick it won’t go through the holes >.< So, the solution for the seed beads at the moment will be to add the extra wire to hang from the back as well as over the wings to make it still look like it’s flying =)
I’m pretty excited about making the small version ^.^ I already have my first order! I’ll post a pic when it’s done, and hopefully get another up for sale on my Square Store ^.^
Have a great evening everyone!
The Breast Cancer Awareness and Halloween beaded animals didn’t go over as well as I liked, however I did raise $6 to send to the Susan G. Komen Organization. It’s better than nothing! The remainder of the PINK beaded animals are going to be donated to cancer patients at the CHI Bergan Mercy Cancer Center (http://www.chihealth.com/chi-health-bergan-mercy).
From November 1, 2016 to November 11, 2016 I’m going to raise money for Veteran’s day (November 11, 2016). 50% of proceeds from any beaded animal with Yellow, Red, White, or Blue on them will be donated to HyVee Homefront ( For more information about HyVee Homefront Click the Link -> https://www.hy-vee.com/homefront/about.html) Any remainder of the beaded animals used for donations will be donated to the Eastern Nebraska Veteran’s Home (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Eastern-Nebraska-Veterans-Home/170282379648949 / http://dhhs.ne.gov/veterans/Pages/vets_omaha_index.aspx)
To put a smile on even just one persons face is worth more than money to me. A smile is a great tool of healing, and to be able to help even in a small way is priceless.
Hope everyone had a great Halloween!
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and in memory of my mom who passed away from breast cancer 4 years ago I’ll be donating money to the Susan G. Komen organization (https://ww5.komen.org/). 50% of all proceeds on any beaded animal with pink on it will go to the organization. (For example, if a beaded animal sells for $10.00 then $5.00 of it will go to the organization.) I will be doing this the whole month of October (October 1, 2016 – October 31, 2016). If you are interested in participating Click Here or Here during the month of October.
Thank you so much for your support! I hope that the donations raised in October will help to find ways to eradicate breast cancer. For those with cancer, cancer survivors, or loved ones with a family/friend with cancer – my love and thoughts go out to you. As a family member who had to watch my mom go through cancer, there are no words to describe how difficult it was to watch. It takes great strength for all those affected by cancer, directly or indirectly, to move forward, to go day by day, and be there for one another through it all. Stay strong, fight to live for those you love, and support one another no matter how rough things get.
I love you all!
Halloween is coming up fast!
Been working on Halloween themed (and colored) beaded animals. Here is what has been made so far 🙂
-Scorpions (white, red/onyx, orange/onyx, purple/onyx)
-Spiders (brown/red, black/red, black/purple, black/orange)
Contemplating on other animals to make for Halloween….
After many recommendations, I finally made an Etsy account (www.etsy.com/shop/lmotheartist). Hopefully it’ll do better than my square store….though at the moment, no sales 😦 Gotta stay optimistic though, at least I’m trying 🙂
I also am going to be at Conjurefest this year ^.^ It’s this Sunday September 11th from noon till 6 p.m. It’ll be held at the Conjure Shop parking lot at: 809 S 75th St, Omaha, NE 68114. Mama Izzy is very nice, and allowed me to get a table to sell my art stuff 🙂 Thank you Mama Izzy!
Have a great week everyone! Hope to see you there!
I did it! I made a manticore 🙂
It’s so cute! Then again I think all my mini beaded animals are cute lol even the spiked ones ^.^
My next beaded project will be a Gryphon. I already have a pattern made up, I just need to make a mini version in the right colors.
With all these creations I was thinking about making an eBook on how to make them so other people can create them too 🙂 Maybe sell the patterns individually at first, then once I have enough of them I can create a whole book! =^.^=
Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far!
